W16 Engine

The W16 engine has 16 cylinder pistons coupled in one crankshaft. This W16 engine is based on the Volkswagen group W16 engine. When you see this engine from the top view, it looks like two V8 engine devided into each side. The angles between each cylinder holder are designed by law following the firing order: 1-14-9-4-7-12-15-6-13-8-3-16-11-2-5-10.

 

This design includes filters, crankshaft, cylinder set, belt system, block, exhaust valve set. The gear system is omitted. All of the W16 engine images here, are created and rendered by hyunwoo ko.

3D Model

This engine has one crankshaft holding the sixteen pistons. Four exhaust valves are attached to each cylinder. The belt power transfer system is used while the original engine is designed as gear system. Details of small parts are design as well, but not shown in the images.
